One of the best things about doing what I do is that I often get to play a role in one of the most important parts of almost any love story. Allow me to explain. In any love story you have a simple premise; someone…finds someone else…and eventually they fall deeply in love. They promise to spend a long life hand in hand and usually end up creating and forever adding to what becomes a wonderful family. A family whose members will often end up starting the very same cycle of life all over again in the decades that follow. All in all, that is how most love is found, grown, and shared.

When I reflect back upon my years in this business I find myself in awe at the amount of people whose lives have been affected by something small that we did. You see, no matter who plays the leads in the love story, there almost always comes a point in time when someone feels the need to show someone else just how much they love them. And this is where we come in. We have sold hundreds upon hundreds of engagement rings and wedding bands to lovers over the years. And these people wear our rings daily. They use these rings as a constant reminder of the love they have and of the love they will continue to build. They use these rings to share their love of each other with the rest of the world. Families are formed. Families are grown. And when it’s time to do so, the next generation creates families of their own.

In some small way…we get to say that we played a role in this huge part of life and love. A part for which I am eternally grateful. Here’s a few pictures of just some of the rings that managed to star in these small roles over the past year.

Most of these pictures are of works created by Todd Pownell, Todd reed, and Chris Ploof. If you’d like to see more of what we have in our current collection, then visit our Engagement Ring and Wedding Band pages. In the meantime…keep finding, building, and sharing your love.

I love my daughter. Correction…I adore my daughter. So when it came time to see if I could better her overall experience at her montessori school, I jumped at the chance. Every year, Jarrow Montessori holds a gala with proceeds going towards benefitting its financial aid program. What I love about the program is how it helps to broaden the experience of each student by diversifying the student body as a whole. Since 1964, Jarrow Montessori has strived to have a student body that was representative of the Boulder community as a whole. As a matter of fact, Jarrow’s current student body consists of families hailing from 19 different countries (including the United States) from varying socioeconomic statuses. In keeping with the tradition, programs such as Jarrow’s financial aid program help to solidify that its student body will always strive to be representative of the Boulder community as a whole.

This year, Artfully Elegant was able to donate a few pieces of jewelry to the gala to help raise monies for its financial aid program. As it turns out we ended up helping to raise near $2000 for the cause. Which is what The Gift of Giving means. The handmade jewelry included pieces by Kathy Bransfield, Christina Kober, and Hilary Hachey. But the piece that truly got all of the attention was a gorgeous ring by renowned artist, Todd Pownell.

The R119 Inverted Diamond Ring was a huge hit at the gala and I couldn’t be happier. I am glad that I was able play a small role in furthering Jarrow’s focus of providing its students with the opportunity to experience a diverse student body. Who knows…maybe this experience will ensure that Artfully Elegant will continue to donate to Jarrow Montessori for many more years to come.

Our Todd Pownell ring sales have been on fire lately! And why wouldn’t they be? Each piece looks like it’s been forged in a lava pit high atop a Hawaiian mountain. They have a unique ability of appealing to both the hardened mountaineer and the refined executive all at the same time.

Perhaps nothing draws Todd Pownell‘s clients more than his signature technique of setting the rings’ diamonds upside down. The beauty of the normally unseen side of a cut diamond is stunning. The closeness of the diamond’s angles couldn’t be more evident. Light seems to dance off the diamond with each and every subtle movement of the hand. Making his rings the center of attention no matter when and where they are worn. #ToddPownell
