Love is colorful, vibrant and as unique as can be. Shouldn’t the ring that represents it be the same?

Sam Woehrmann’s non-traditional rings are a harmonious blend of quality materials and exceptional craftsmanship. By utilizing 22k yellow gold and sterling silver, Sam creates rings that exude a distinctive charm and radiate a warm, inviting glow. His designs provide an elegance and individuality to each piece, setting them apart from traditional offerings.

Adding to their allure are the natural gray diamonds and colorful precious stones that Sam Woehrmann incorporates into his designs. The gray diamonds possess a captivating and mysterious beauty, with their unique hue adding depth and character to the rings. The colorful precious stones, on the other hand, inject vibrant pops of color, creating a striking contrast against the warm tones of the gold and silver. From deep blues and rich greens, each stone is carefully selected for its exceptional color and brilliance.

Often times I am asked to describe a particular artist’s work. And often times doing so is rather simple. That’s because in most cases an artist that’s good at what they do become synonymous with a specific adjective or two. For example, Todd Reed is raw elegance, while Todd Pownell is alternative bridal. But every once in awhile, I encounter an artist that is simple impossible to define with a mere one or two adjectives. Jennifer Dawes is one of those artists.

Her rings are alluring, captivating, inspiring, elegant, refined, bold, vibrant, and of course…breathtaking. She uses recycled diamonds, sustainably sourced metals, and ethical metalsmithing practices in designing each of her pieces. How could I reduce her handmade rings to a mere one or two adjectives when describing how unique they are? Take a look for yourself, I promise you will fall in love with each and every one of them.

How often do we find ourselves wishing and hoping for something? A wish for a change in our day to day lives. We wish for changes in our jobs, our relationships or even just changes in ourselves. While I am fairly certain that a wish is nothing more than a expression of our desires, I am also fairly certain that given the right amount of intention and energy, that wish very well might come true. Keeping it alive in our thoughts on a day to day basis is truly the only way that we can actually make anything come true.

The beauty of one of our newest collections is that its entire purpose is to make it possible to bring the wish with you wherever you go. Each of Wishbeads bracelets are made of semi-precious stones that are believed to carry with them healing properties to help with anything we may need in our lives. The bracelets are made with stones of Labradorite for Clarity, Lapis for Intention, Jasper for Grounding, Agate for Centering, Amethyst for Intuition, and Lava for Calming, And the best part is that each of the bracelets have a clasp that unscrews to hold a small rolled up Wishpaper that allows you to write a wish upon it.

Carrying a wish or an intention with you from day to day makes it that much more likely that you will be able to transform hope into a reality. Check out the entire collection of Wishbeads here!

I love my daughter. Correction…I adore my daughter. So when it came time to see if I could better her overall experience at her montessori school, I jumped at the chance. Every year, Jarrow Montessori holds a gala with proceeds going towards benefitting its financial aid program. What I love about the program is how it helps to broaden the experience of each student by diversifying the student body as a whole. Since 1964, Jarrow Montessori has strived to have a student body that was representative of the Boulder community as a whole. As a matter of fact, Jarrow’s current student body consists of families hailing from 19 different countries (including the United States) from varying socioeconomic statuses. In keeping with the tradition, programs such as Jarrow’s financial aid program help to solidify that its student body will always strive to be representative of the Boulder community as a whole.

This year, Artfully Elegant was able to donate a few pieces of jewelry to the gala to help raise monies for its financial aid program. As it turns out we ended up helping to raise near $2000 for the cause. Which is what The Gift of Giving means. The handmade jewelry included pieces by Kathy Bransfield, Christina Kober, and Hilary Hachey. But the piece that truly got all of the attention was a gorgeous ring by renowned artist, Todd Pownell.

The R119 Inverted Diamond Ring was a huge hit at the gala and I couldn’t be happier. I am glad that I was able play a small role in furthering Jarrow’s focus of providing its students with the opportunity to experience a diverse student body. Who knows…maybe this experience will ensure that Artfully Elegant will continue to donate to Jarrow Montessori for many more years to come.

Piet Mondrian was a pioneer of the abstract art movement. He brought to the world a manner of expression that until then it had not truly ever experienced. Known for his mastery of a style he aptly termed De Stijl, he refined his artistry to only include primary colors and clean straight lines.

When I first came across Vanessa Gade’s beautifully crafted handmade jewelry, I was immediately struck by her ability to own her style while simultaneously paying homage to De Stijl. Her work is refined, organic, and simply put, captivating. As a wearer you will find yourself fascinated by the juxtaposition of lines of gold and the space created between them. Priced with the wearer in mind, our Vanessa Gade collection is meant to stun the viewer while giving the impression that it is still completely accessible. To put it bluntly, you’ll find that her jewelry can be worn whether in a pair of jeans or in a little black dress.

Our personal favorite, is wonderfully titled Mondrian. Check it out, I’m sure you’ll agree.

Our Todd Pownell ring sales have been on fire lately! And why wouldn’t they be? Each piece looks like it’s been forged in a lava pit high atop a Hawaiian mountain. They have a unique ability of appealing to both the hardened mountaineer and the refined executive all at the same time.

Perhaps nothing draws Todd Pownell‘s clients more than his signature technique of setting the rings’ diamonds upside down. The beauty of the normally unseen side of a cut diamond is stunning. The closeness of the diamond’s angles couldn’t be more evident. Light seems to dance off the diamond with each and every subtle movement of the hand. Making his rings the center of attention no matter when and where they are worn. #ToddPownell

Every once in a while there is a piece that simply becomes impossible to keep in stock. More often than not, it’s a necklace by Kathy Bransfield. Of course it makes perfect sense that her work connects with so many people from around the country; but that doesn’t make it any less surprising when I find myself fighting to get so many orders out in such a short period of time.

Towards the end of November I received an order for two of the Buddhist Wheel necklaces. Like most orders I receive, I didn’t think too much about it. However soon after that initial order, I encountered a flurry of orders for the same piece within a matter of days. And when all was said and done…we had sold 12 Buddhist Wheel necklaces within 10 days. To the average jewelry store this may seem like a typical weekend. But when you are a website focused on selling handmade jewelry, it is essentially unheard of.

As with many of these random sales bumps, it is almost impossible to say what lead to this necklaces meteoric rise to the Best Selling Necklaces category. But one thing is for certain, Buddha generally knew what he was talking about. It’s about time people take notice. LOL!

It reads simply:

“If it hurts too much to look back, but you’re too scared to look ahead, just look beside you and I’ll Be There”

At times I find myself intrigued with how one particular piece seems to grab a hold over people’s hearts more than any other. Over the past summer, we sold more Kathy Bransfield’s I’ll Be There necklaces than any other piece we have in our collection. Yes it is a beautiful necklace with both color and shape designed to catch the eye, but I am sure that the reason for its popularity is much deeper than that.

The necklace’s sentiment is meticulous in its simplicity. I’ll Be There. No matter what you are going through, I’ll Be There. If you need a friend and feel that you are all alone, then I’ll Be There. And what an wonderful way to get that expression across? In today’s world of selfishness, as we all experience a shift away from a community of friends, family, neighbors and colleagues, art like this is essential to letting people know that we still care. No matter what life is throwing their way…we will always be there to help see them through.

I’ll Be There!

We all have a story to tell, don’t we? Of course since none of us actually have the time to tell everyone our story one by one, we opt instead to express ourselves in the simplest way possible…our style. To me, there is nothing more expressive than the style of jewelry we wear and how we wear it. Jewelry is personal. Very personal. The color, the texture, the material, the craftsmanship…each and every facet of a piece of jewelry helps us to add to that story about ourselves. Who are we? What inspires us? What do we carry with us with through our every day?

At our one year anniversary, I wanted to give my wife a handmade gift that expressed a continued promise of the day we were first married. I wanted something that exuded exquisiteness. Something that was both delicate and bold. A piece of jewelry that would last lifetimes. When I finally gave her that gift…she felt nothing could’ve expressed that continued promise better than the Todd Reed ring I gave her that day.

It’s richness, it’s boldness, it’s colors, it’s brand…they all tell a story while sitting on my wife’s hand. That ring speaks volumes about her strength, her colorful nature and her unique style. It tells everyone who sees it that she’s one of a kind and unapologetically a purveyor of finer things. So what’s your story? And how do you plan on telling it?
